What is brush chipping & hauling?

Brush chipping feeds limbs, branches, and woody debris through a mechanical chipper that reduces them to wood chips on site, shrinking a truckload of brush into a wheelbarrow-sized pile of usable mulch. True Tree Service chips and hauls across Humboldt and Del Norte counties as a standalone service; no tree removal required.

What we chip and haul

Brush is the part of tree work nobody plans for until it is a pile taking over the driveway. Our chipper handles it on site, fast, and you do not need to have booked a removal to get your property cleaned up.

Storm debris

Every winter blow leaves the North Coast covered in downed limbs and broken tops. We clear, chip, and haul storm debris as a standalone call, and after big events we run cleanup routes through the hardest-hit neighborhoods.

Your own brush piles

The pruning pile that got ahead of you, the blackberry and brush from a fence-line clearing, the mountain the previous owner left behind the shed. Stack it where we can reach it, or point us at it where it lies, and it leaves as chips.

Defensible space clearing

For inland properties especially, around Willow Creek, Gasquet, and the river canyons, brush is fuel. We clear ladder fuels and cut brush around structures and chip it immediately, instead of leaving drying piles next to the thing you are trying to protect.

Land and lot clearing

Clearing a building site, a garden plot, a pasture edge, or an RV pad produces staggering amounts of woody debris. Chipping on site turns a disposal problem into ground cover, and what cannot be chipped gets hauled.

Keep the chips: free mulch from your own trees

Wood chips are the most underrated product in the garden. Spread under trees and over beds, they hold soil moisture through the dry months, suppress weeds, feed the soil as they break down, and keep winter rain from compacting bare ground. Commercial mulch is the same product with a price tag and a truck trip attached.

Plenty of our customers ask us to leave the chips, and gardeners should. When nearby jobs produce extra loads, we have been known to drop chips off for folks who want more; ask when you call and we will put you on the list if a load comes up in your area.

Why cleanup is part of every quote

A tree job is not done when the tree is on the ground; it is done when you cannot tell we were there except the tree is gone. Chipping is how we keep that promise on every removal and trim, which is also why our reviews mention clean sites almost as often as they mention the tree work.

For standalone chipping and hauling, quotes are free and usually quick: a couple of photos of the pile and the access is often enough for a firm number.

Brush Chipping & Hauling questions, answered

Can I keep the wood chips?

Absolutely, and most gardeners should. Chips from your own trees make excellent mulch: they hold moisture, suppress weeds, and feed the soil as they break down. We will leave the pile wherever you want it, or haul it if you would rather see it gone.

Will you chip a brush pile I made myself?

Yes. Standalone chipping is a regular service for us: storm debris, pruning piles, fence-line clearings, or the brush mountain the previous owner left behind. No tree removal required.

Do you deliver wood chips?

When nearby jobs produce extra loads, we sometimes can. Ask when you call and we will let you know if a load comes up in your area. Chips from our jobs go to local gardens before they ever go to a dump.

Do you do fire-safety and defensible space clearing?

Yes. We clear ladder fuels and brush around structures and chip the material immediately rather than leaving drying piles on the property. For inland properties, this is some of the most important work we do all year.

How much does chipping cost?

It depends on the volume of material, what is in it, and access for the chipper. Send a couple of photos of the pile with your quote request and we can usually give you a firm number fast. Quotes are free.
